【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedforuseforevaluatingtheperformanceofthermalinsulatedpackagingusedforhigh-value,high-riskmaterials.Thistestmethodmayalsobeusedforanyproductthatrequiresaccurateinternalpackagetemperaturereadingswhilebeingexposedtoarangeofexternalairtemperatures.Certainitems,suchasbiologicalmaterials,pharmaceuticals,diagnostics,andbloodproducts,mustbeshippedinsidetemperature-controlledpackages.Factorsaffectingtherateofheattransferofthepackageincludetheinsulationoftheexteriorpackage,theenergysource,andtheproductpayload.Becauseofthevarietyoffactorsaffectingtheperformanceofathermallyinsulatedpackage,testingshouldbeconductedwiththeactualpackagewheneverpossible.Whensimulatedpackagesareused,specialcaremustbeexercisedsothatthesimulatedpayloadandcoolantwillbeascloseaspossibletotheactualpackagesintemperatureandotherrelevantphysicalproperties.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthethermalinsulationqualityofapackageandthethermalstabilityofitscontentswhenexposedtovariableambienttemperatureconditions.Itissuitablefortestingpackageswithvariousinternalenergysourceswithorwithoutproductpayloads.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificprecautionarystatementsaregivenin5.3.
