【摘要】:Ingeneral,thedroppingpointisthetemperatureatwhichthegreasepassesfromasemisolidtoaliquidstateundertheconditionsoftest.Thischangeinstateistypicalofgreasescontainingasthickenerssoapsofconventionaltypes.Greasescontainingasthickenersmaterialsotherthanconventionalsoapscan,withoutchangeinstate,separateoil.Thistestmethodisusefultoassistinidentifyingthegreaseastotypeandforestablishingandmaintainingbenchmarksforqualitycontrol.Theresultsareconsideredtohaveonlylimitedsignificancewithrespecttoserviceperformanceasdroppingpointisastatictest.Note18212;Cooperativetestingindicatesthatingeneral,droppingpointsbyTestMethodD5665andTestMethodD2265areinagreement.Incaseswhereresultsdiffer,thereisnoknownsignificance.However,agreementbetweenproducerandconsumerastothetestmethodusedisadvisable.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthedroppingpointoflubricatinggrease.1.2Thistestmethodisnotrecommendedforuseatbathtemperaturesabove288176C.ForhighertemperaturesTestMethodD2265shouldbeused.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,see6.4and8.1.
